Cover Crop Competition

We launched our inaugural Cover Crop Competition in Jersey in 2024, aiming to promote sustainable farming practices and biodiversity on the island. In 2025 we move onto our second year of the competition, expanding the impact it has. The competition features five categories: Best Bird Cover Crop, Best Visual Cover Crop, Best Pollinator Cover Crop, Best Soil Health Cover Crop and Overall Winner. This initiative has had a significant impact on the community, encouraging local farmers to adopt innovative techniques that enhance biodiversity, improve soil health, and support vital ecosystems. By engaging various local organisations and experts in the judging process, the competition has fostered collaboration and knowledge-sharing within Jersey's agricultural community, setting a new standard for sustainable farming practices on the island.
