Early Crops Remain Under Plastic

As a general rule of thumb, the earliest crops remain under plastic for about 6 weeks.

At this point, as the plants start to ‘push’ the plastic they need to be uncovered and reworked (building up the ridges to avoid greening later on). On the early slopes this is all done by hand, whereas later in the season a tractor-mounted machine is used on flatter land.
