Indoor lifting continues in greenhouses and poly tunnels around the Island.
Once the ends of the rows have been dug out by hand, the tops of the plants are gently removed before a mini tractor and small harvester is used to lift the potatoes out of the ground, and a team of staff then come in behind to pick up the Jersey Royals. The whole operation is very labour intensive, to ensure absolute attention to detail as the Jersey Royals at this stage of the season are still very delicate.
